Completion of the Riverside South Wall

You may remember that on February 26, 2007, my people were threatening to expedite the construction of a fence. This was the day I met Stanley. (You may also remember that I was "flabbergasted" when I first saw Stanley. We have, of course, since grown to like each other quite a bit.)

Last week of course, the fence was under major construction.

Well, yesterday it got finished. All the gaps are filled, all the gates are in, all the nice trim has been added. The only thing left to do is lop off the tops of the posts, but that has no impact on me.

So that's it. I've been cut off from Stanley, and even partially cut off from Murphy (but not enough, my people would say). Oh, we'll survive... And hopefully Stanley and I will get to see each other again once in a while. (Although Stanley is a little full of himself these days. I think he thinks everyone is talking about him when they say things like "Stanley's coming" or "We want Stanley". I know they're talking about the Stanley Cup, not Stanley the dog, but I don't have the heart to tell him. There's even a t-shirt that says "Stanley is coming to town".)

Most amazing is that this fence got done so quickly. In my brief experience in this family, projects such as this do not happen this quickly. So we'll see what happens from here... I don't know if there are any other major things in the works but I'll keep you posted.
