Well, the biggest difference between this Christmas and last Christmas is the amount of snow. If you recall 2006, I was celebrating the fact that we had almost no snow. To wit...
Now in 2007, we had a record amount of snow for December. (And it's January 1 today and it's basically been snowing all day. Watch the outdoor hockey game in Buffalo today? See the snow? That's what we've seen all day and it's still going.) To wit... here's a photo taken on Christmas Day from about the same angle as last year's photo... but no one was willing to come out and pose this year.
Honestly, the snowbanks along the driveway are six feet high. I know I've said that before, and I know they melted some just before Christmas, but they're back up that high again. Crazy.
