Camp... what camp?

Camp was so traumatic that I've temporarily (at least) erased it from my memory.

But I did hear all about Syracuse... that's where my people went, abandoning me at camp. Apparently Syracuse is very orange. And white. I hear it snowed a lot today on their drive home. Something about semi trucks in the ditch, yada yada yada.

They did speak highly of the Carousel Center, surprisingly high end. They weren't as pleased with the Waterloo Premium Outlets or the Shoppingtown Mall. Or even the Great Northern Mall. They do have some specific recommendations, although none are (is?) necessarily specific to Syracuse...

Their hotel, the Wingate by Wyndham, was quite good. A little out of the way, and a little hard to find, but clean, quiet, well run, with a nice room, pool, hot tub, and a decent breakfast. It was also a very good rate for the room.

They had a couple of nice dinners too... but not at local joints. They went with chains, but chains they normally can't go to. Like UNO Chicago Grill, where they entered hungry, but left very very full. Why they ordered dessert (UNO Deep Dish Sundae), they don't even know.

They also liked Bonefish Grill, even though it was primarily seafood. Must be because it's part of the same family as Outback.

They were very much impressed with the friendly service that greeted them almost everywhere in Syracuse... at the mall, at restaurants, at other shops. People were very friendly.
