But my people went to Prescott, Brockville and Smiths Falls yesterday.
Prescott is a small town along the St. Lawrence River, near the closest border crossing to Ottawa. Just outside Prescott is the historic site of the Battle of the Windmill, where in 1838 Americans invaded, trying to capture Fort Wellington and trying to control the St. Lawrence. Check out this picture of the historic site... Is it just me or it this windmill clearly a lighthouse?

Next, my people went to Brockville for Ribfest. (It was justified because it was "for the kids"... just like buying a Blizzard helped "the kids", and buying a Guardian Angel burger was for "the kids".) The weather was good, the ribs were good, the music was good, the parking was very very bad.

Interestingly, it looked like they (the powers that be in Brockville) decided to try to attract people to their main drag at the same time as everyone was being attracted to the park near the picturesque harbour where Ribfest was.

The street festival appeared to be a failure. Despite the fact that some very poorly skilled wrestlers attracted a small crowd on the street...
... that was countered by the sad lonely busker...

After Brockville, my people went to Smiths Falls. If there's anything Smiths Falls is known for, it's chocolate. It is currently home to the Hershey chocolate factory... the first one ever built outside of Hershey, PA. Sadly, the Smiths Falls chocolate factory is slowly closing. On the bright side, it's still home to the Chocolate Shoppe, where people spend ridiculous amounts of money on chocolate (which is actually priced quite fairly).

What I did on my summer vacation Part I (by Patty):
My people have been telling me I'm going camping and going to see Uncle Michael, Auntie Vivian and Radar. Radar! I can't wait to see Radar! I wonder when we're leaving...my bag has been packed for days!
