Tucson, Arizona

Cacti, rattlesnakes, and coyotes. And 111F (44C) temperatures.

Tucson is dry and hot. And it's bigger than you think. Tucson, believe it or not, is almost a million people. It's also a pretty nice place, even if it is quite barren and desert-like. It is a desert after all. It's river beds are dry, there's not much vegetation, and people's front yards are comprised of rocks, dirt and cacti... no grass.

See the photos that follow in the post below to get a sense of what it looks like. You can also see a lizard, but no snakes. Also have a look at this cactus, known as the mofus desertus or the Desert Mofo. If one walks near it, part of the cactus attaches itself to the person. Literally. It sticks its needles into the victim, piercing right through the clothing into the skin. Saw it happen.
