Even Steven

Some sad news and some happy news.

The sad news is that faithful blog reader and trusty dog Cookie passed away last week. Cookie's pal Lucky recently wrote to me about Cookie, claiming Cookie was about 11 or 12 years old and the two of them got into no end of trouble. Personally, I'm pretty sure Lucky was the instigator most times. Lucky joked about letting Cookie think she was in charge around the house, but I could tell that Lucky really respected Cookie and will miss her a lot. And of course Cookie's people are really going to miss her. It was a tough week for Lucky and for Cookie's people, but it is nice to know that they had lots of good times together.

So love your dogs everyone. We won't be around forever.

The happier news happened this weekend (just today actually) when a good friend of Cookie and her family came to visit us. Auntie Christine stopped by for a short visit today. It was such a nice day that we all sat out on the front porch and enjoyed the weather. But then Auntie Christine had to get her drink on and had to get her gambling on, so my people took her to the casino where she promptly donated G & D's education fund to the Quebec government and chased that down with the House red.

Thank you Radar for your hospitality...a beautiful house with room for visitors, the four legged and two legged kind!

Radar's parents and I sat on the porch and watched the neighbour hood as it came alive....I couldn't stop the tags from the newly purchased furniture from swaying against me in the wind...Radar you must chew them off next time.

We reflected on the middle class neighbourhood and those who live in it.

Don't tell your parents Radar, but the neighbour lady is a comedian and your parents are thinking they are subject matter...so my advice to you is to tune into the Comedy Channel and check it out...if the episode of "Two Squirrels in A Rucksack" is playing, call me!

Take good care Radar, get lots of exercise, eat treats after you've finished your dinner, and remember a healthy body starts with lots of water (and red wine)!
