Mr. Charles Greene

I know it's been a while since I posted, and I apologize for that. My main reason is that my official transcriber has been away. Look at his fancy pants pictures:

But I also have some exciting news. I'm still not sure I should tell anyone because I've been told clearly that this is confidential. But it's so exciting -- and potentially life-changing -- that I feel I need to tell someone and possibly get some advice on what to do. Please promise me you'll keep this to yourself, but also... please tell me what you think I should do. This is so new to me, and the average chihuahua brain is seriously smaller than the average wad of silly putty, so I need to rely on the experience of some readers.
OK... here it is...
I've been presented with an incredible opportunity. A Mr. Charles Greene of the Natwest Bank Group in the United Kingdom has contacted me... ME!... to help him with a certain situation. I have no idea how he found me, or why he chose me. I can only assume he, like you, is a dedicated reader of this blog and finds my wittiness to be endearing and trustworthy. I'll let Mr. Greene take it from here. This is what he wrote:

Mr.Charles Greene
Senior Audit Officer
Natwest Bank Group
UK.
Dear Friend,
I am Mr.Charles Greene Senior Audit Officer of Natwest Bank Group UK, Natwest Bank London. I am writing following an opportunity in my office that will be of immense benefit to both of us. In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of £20.5million British Pounds Sterling (Twenty million five hundred thousand British Pounds) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customers Late Mr.Morris Thompson an American who unfortunately lost his life in the plane crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 which crashed on January 31 2000, including his wife and only daughter.
You shall read more about the crash on visiting this site. http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/02/01/alaska.airlines.list/
Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin or relatives to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines. Unfortunately I learnt that his supposed next of kin being his only daughter died along with him in the plane crash leaving nobody with the knowledge of this fund behind for the claim. It is therefore upon this discovery that I and two other officials in this department now decided to make business with you and release the money to you as the next of kin or beneficiary of the funds for safety keeping and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go back into Government treasury as unclaimed bill. The banking law and guidelines here stipulates that such money remained after eight years the money will be transferred into banking treasury as unclaimed bill.
We agreed that 35% of this money will be for you as foreign partner, while the balance will be for me and my colleagues. I will visit your country for the disbursement according to the percentages indicated above once this money gets into your account.
Please be honest to me and trust is our watchword in this transaction.
Note this transaction is confidential and risk free. As soon as you receive this mail you should contact me by return mail. Please note that all necessary arrangement for the smooth release of these funds to you has been finalised. We will discuss much in details when I do receive your response.
Please if you are interested in this project contact me for further directives.
Best regards
Mr.Charles Greene

I know what you're thinking.
You're thinking "Wow!".
Me too.
I should also tell you I checked everything out and it all seems legitimate. The web site about the plane crash is a real story on CNN, and the guy's name actually appears on the site. CNN doesn't make up news. Also, it's not a fake bank. NatWest is real. (I admit it's a little strange that he works for NatWest, yet consistently chooses NOT to capitalize the W.)
What most caught my eye was that this transaction is risk free. And 35% seems more than fair. Honestly, I'd be interested for 1%! Really... what am I going to do with that much money... especially British money?
I am honoured that they have "decided to make business with" me, and that they trust me -- me, a small brown dog of all things -- for "safety keeping and subsequent disbursement" of these funds.
So here's what I'm thinking. I believe I have nothing to lose by contacting Mr. Greene. I will write him a nice e-mail and let him know I'm interested. I won't come on too strong, because maybe I can hold out for more money. I'm not sure if I should tell him I'm a dog. He may already know if he does read the blog. And if he doesn't know, he may feel a little weird doing business with a dog, so maybe I'll keep that out.
Honestly, I welcome any advice you can give me. Please know that I'll post all correspondence with Mr. Greene right here on my blog (if that helps sway your decision one way or another).
Thank you for your time in reading this and than you in advance for your help. And remember, "trust is our watchword in this transaction".
