The biggest news ever to hit Ottawa - EVER - seriously, EVER! - is that the canal is frozen. Rumour has it those vagabonds from Winnipeg were trying to claim a longer frozen skating rink this year. Well watch out Winnipeg! We're at 2 km today and we're on our way to 7.8 km! Yee-haw! Check out the ice conditions and the plans for Winterlude (Bal de Neige) here.
Well, my people checked out the canal today. It was a sunny day, but still chilly... -12 or -13 or so. But there were tons of people there. According to local tourism expert Victor, there are usually half the people there were today on the canal, and they're usually spread out all over the whole 7.8 km and Dow's Lake. So it was crowded, bumpy, busy, but lots of fun too. Vivian even managed to give it a go. Have a look.

My people also took in the Ottawa Senators game yesterday against the evil Boston Bruins. The good guys won. My people don't get why everybody boos Zdeno Chara though. It's not like he really did anything wrong. Anyway, check out Michael proudly sporting his Jets jersey in ScotiaBank Place. Check out some other goofballs doing the same thing at this page at jetsowner.com.
